WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) announced today that Chennault International, Lake Charles Regional, and Southland Field airports will receive over $1.4 million in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
- Chennault International Airport will receive a $300,000 grant for the design phase of a taxiway project that will reconstruct 750 feet of the existing pavement.
- Lake Charles Regional Airport will receive a $1,000,000 grant to install a new passenger loading bridge in the terminal building.
- Southland Field Airport will receive a $105,000 grant to rehabilitate 900 feet of the existing taxiway and rehabilitate 12,200 square yards of the general aviation hangar apron.
Congressman Higgins also announced a $150,000 FAA grant for the DeQuincy Industrial Airpark Airport last month.

Each of these airports provides critical industry support, and these investments ensure that our airports can continue to operate safely and with increased capacity.”
