WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) announced today that he will serve on the House Oversight & Reform Committee during the 116th Congress.
Congressman Higgins is a new addition to the House Oversight & Reform Committee, which focuses on government accountability and reducing waste, fraud, and abuse. He brings a strong background of experience in law enforcement and criminal investigations. Congressman Higgins will join high-profile conservative leaders like Ranking Member Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Congressman Mark Meadows (R-NC) on the Committee.
Many expect House Democrats will use the Oversight & Reform Committee as a launching pad for attacks against President Trump and his administration.
Congressman Higgins issued the following statement:
“Democrats will do everything in their power to attack and obstruct President Trump. The Oversight & Reform Committee will be an important battleground over the next two years. I will be a loud voice against these liberal attacks. My focus will be reducing waste, fraud, and abuse within the federal government. Our government should serve the American people, not its own bureaucracy.”
Ranking Member Jordan issued the following statement:
“We welcome the new members to the Oversight committee. Our job is to find and defend the truth. I look forward to working with each and every member of the committee to conduct serious fact-based oversight.”
