LAKE CHARLES, LA – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) announced today that FEMA will award $46,498,869.63 to the City of Lake Charles for debris removal operations in response to Hurricane Laura. The reimbursement is made at a 90% federal cost-share.

To date, over $1.29 billion in disaster relief has been delivered in response to Hurricanes Laura and Delta.

Congressman Higgins issued the following statement:

“This most recent reimbursement provides much-needed support to the City of Lake Charles. Our recovery mission is ongoing, and we continue to push for supplemental long-term recovery resources at the federal level.”
