LAKE CHARLES, LA – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) announced today that Chennault International Airport will receive over $3.438 million from the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Airport Improvement Program (AIP). The funding will be used to finance reconstruction work on the taxiway and rehabilitation of taxiway lighting.
Congressman Higgins issued the following statement:
“Chennault is a major economic engine for Southwest Louisiana. The airport and surrounding industrial park employ thousands and generate hundreds of millions of dollars in economic activity each year. This investment ensures Chennault can continue to perform as one of the nation’s premier industrial airports. My office will keep working at the federal level to prioritize strategic investments in Louisiana’s infrastructure.”
