Higgins, Freedom Caucus Colleagues Defend Law Enforcement Against Anti-Police Attacks
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) led 11 other members of the House Freedom Caucus on an official letter to President Joe Biden defending law enforcement and countering leftist anti-police rhetoric.
The letter reads, in part, “The narrative of ‘systemic racism’ dominating America's police forces is false. The overwhelming majority of law enforcement's men and women are solid Patriots who perform increasingly dangerous, heroic work. American law enforcement professionals have had enough of the broad condemnation of police coming from the Democrat Party.”
It continues, “Any reasonable man would admit that there are twisted hearts burdened with some level of sin in every profession. Law enforcement is not immune from that reality, nor is Congress. However, the leftist characterization that all police forces are systematically racist, bigoted, or filled with hate is a lie.”
Reps. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Dan Bishop (R-NC), Michael Cloud (R-TX), Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Yvette Herrell (R-NM), Jody Hice (R-GA), Mary Miller (R-IL), Barry Moore (R-AL), Ralph Norman (R-SC), Scott Perry (R-PA), and Chip Roy (R-TX) all signed the letter.
