WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) announced today that FEMA is awarding an additional $9,725,601.90 for hurricane recovery efforts in South Louisiana.
The reimbursements include:
- $2,181,977.10 to Office of Risk Management to restore five Southwest Louisiana water control facilities in response to Hurricane Laura. This includes the New Cop Cop, McNeese Bayou, Perry Bayou, New Dyson, and Little Constance structures. The reimbursement is made at a 90% federal cost-share.
- $4,084,048.26 to the Diocese of Lake Charles for remediation work at 149 buildings in response to Hurricane Laura. The reimbursement is made at a 100% federal cost-share.
- $1,055,661.38 to the Office of Risk Management for permanent repairs to the McNeese University Track and Field buildings in response to Hurricane Laura. The reimbursement is made at a 90% federal cost-share.
- $2,403,915.16 to the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury for emergency protective measures at 16 parish facilities and the emergency operations center in response to Hurricane Laura. The reimbursement is made at a 100% federal cost-share.
All funding will be delivered to the State of Louisiana. The state is responsible for disbursing the funds to each sub-recipient.
