WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) announced today that FEMA is awarding an additional $27,517,485.03 for hurricane recovery efforts in South Louisiana.
The reimbursements include:
- $25,554,573.39 to the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury for debris removal operations in response to Hurricane Laura. This reimbursement is made at a 90% federal cost-share.
- $1,962,911.64 to the city of DeQuincy for debris removal operations in response to Hurricane Laura. This reimbursement is made at a 90% federal cost-share.
All funding will be delivered to the State of Louisiana. The state is responsible for disbursing the funds to each sub-recipient.
Congressman Higgins issued the following statement:
“Over $2 billion in recovery resources have been delivered and allocated in response to Hurricanes Laura and Delta. We continue to prioritize Southwest Louisiana’s recovery efforts and push for timely processing of public assistance applications.”
