WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) issued the following statement in response to President Trump’s 2020 State of the Union address.
“Since being elected, President Trump hasn’t stopped working for the American people. The President is delivering on his promises. America is safer, stronger, and more prosperous under his leadership. We are in the midst of a historically strong economy, and Americans are winning again because of Conservative pro-growth policies. In the past three years, we have achieved significant progress in securing the southern border, rebuilding our military, and establishing American energy dominance. Further, President Trump has outlined a bold plan to lower health care costs, greatly reducing government mandates, restoring individual freedom, encouraging innovation, and increasing marketplace competition. This is the vision of America that we should embrace.
“Democrats in Congress should end their partisan obstruction, move beyond this Constitutionally-unfounded, weaponized impeachment, and work with Republicans to help President Trump deliver bipartisan wins for America. We have important work that must be done.”
