WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) announced today that President Biden has approved a 90/10 cost-share adjustment for FEMA Public Assistance programs in response to Hurricane Laura.
The federal share of recovery costs will increase from 75% to 90%. This is in addition to the 30-day, 100% federal cost-share adjustment that was issued under President Trump.
Congressman Higgins issued the following statement:
“We have not stopped pushing for increased federal assistance in response to last year’s hurricanes. This cost-share adjustment is a huge win for South Louisiana. It will ease the financial burden and provide much-needed support for state and local governments. I’ll continue working with our federal partners to prioritize South Louisiana’s ongoing recovery efforts.”
