DEQUINCY, LA – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) commended Interfor Corporation’s announcement of plans to invest up to $8 million to restart the Georgia Pacific sawmill near DeQuincy. The project is expected to create 170 direct jobs and 505 indirect jobs in Southwest Louisiana.

“Interfor’s investment to restart this sawmill is welcome news. This project will create new jobs and economic opportunities for South Louisiana. It will also provide Louisiana’s lumber industry with a much-needed boost in production. We support private investments like this, which contribute greatly to Louisiana’s economy.”
