WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) announced today that FEMA will award an additional $118,244,712.74 for hurricane recovery efforts in South Louisiana.
The reimbursement will be made to the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury for debris removal operations to clear drainage laterals in response to Hurricane Laura. The reimbursement is made at a 90% federal cost-share.
All funding will be delivered to the State of Louisiana. The state is responsible for disbursing the funds to each sub-recipient.
Congressman Higgins issued the following statement:
“This reimbursement provides much-needed resources to Calcasieu Parish and will help additional recovery work move forward. We continue to support Calcasieu Parish and all of Southwest Louisiana in that mission.”
