WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) announced today that the Department of Transportation (DOT) is awarding $448,000 for the improvement and modernization of the Harry P. William Memorial Airport and the Jennings Airport.
The grants include:
- $144,000 to the St. Mary Parish Government for the improvement and modernization of the Harry P. William Memorial Airport.
- $304,000.00 to the Jefferson Davis Airport Commission District Number 1 for the improvement and modernization of the Jennings Airport.
“While I opposed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act in its totality as a matter of principle, some of the proposals within the bill were solid. Ultimately, the bill became law, and the funding has been allocated. We continue to advocate for the advancement of Louisiana projects,” said Congressman Higgins. “This funding will provide much needed resources to improve our local airports to strengthen our economy.”
