WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) announced today that the City of Youngsville will receive $3,034,575 in federal funding from the Department of Transportation (DOT) for road safety improvements.

The funding is made available through the FY24 Safe Streets and Roads for All grant program, which was established in the Infrastructure Law.

The grant will be used to install a roundabout at the intersection of Louisiana Highway 92 and Larriviere Road and includes sidewalks that are physically separated from vehicular traffic.

“While I opposed the infrastructure bill in its totality as a matter of principle, there are certain hard infrastructure projects within the bill that my office supports,” said Congressman Higgins. “Those elements include funding for road improvements that promote safety and increase traffic flow in South Louisiana. My office will continue to fight for investments in real infrastructure while remaining committed to our core principles.”
