WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) voted to pass H.R. 7176, the Unlocking our Domestic LNG Potential Act, which would reverse President Biden’s indefinite permitting pause on American LNG exports. Congressman Higgins co-sponsored the legislation.

“South Louisiana is the epicenter of America’s LNG industry, with multiple export facilities in Calcasieu and Cameron parishes. These facilities are major job providers and help supply clean energy products on a global scale,” said Congressman Higgins. “Since Biden took office, our nation has seen high energy prices that are crushing American families and empowering foreign adversaries. America has the potential to lead the world in clean, innovative LNG technologies. However, the Biden administration cannot continue to weaponize the federal government against American energy producers. We must move forward with domestic energy projects for the sake of Louisiana, America, and indeed the entire world. My office will continue to work at the federal level to enact policies that increase domestic energy production.”
