WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) cosponsored an amendment to H.R. 1, the Lower Energy Costs Act, which would stop frivolous lawsuits on energy pipeline construction that would otherwise be held up by bureaucratic red tape.
H.R. 1 will repeal the onerous taxes and overregulation that American energy producers fare, streamline the permitting process while still protecting our environment, and increase domestic energy production.
Congressman Higgins issued the following statement:
“Left-leaning environmental activist groups have been working to halt all energy production without understanding the full repercussions of their actions,”said Congressman Higgins. “By tying up our domestic energy producers in lengthy and unnecessary legal battles, they are halting energy dominance resulting in less energy security.”
