WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) voted to pass H.R. 26, the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which would require appropriate medical care for children who survive abortion procedures and impose strong criminal penalties for failure to provide care. Additionally, this legislation would protect women whose abortions have been performed from prosecution.

“There is no gift more precious than the sanctity of life. We must do all that we can to protect the most innocent and vulnerable. I am a strong supporter of pro-life priorities and will continue to vote to protect the unborn.”

Congressman Higgins is an original co-sponsor of H.R. 26, the Born Alive-Abortion Survivors Protection Act.
