WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) voted to pass H.R. 23, the Family and Small Business Taxpayer Protection Act, which would rescind funding made available to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) through the Inflation Reduction Act for enforcement, operations support, and other accounts.

“Last year, the Democrats pushed through a $4 trillion piece of legislation that included the hiring of an additional 87,000 IRS agents. These agents would target hardworking Americans with aggressive audits of their financial records. In good conscience, I could not let this happen. American families are struggling to put food on the table with the high prices caused by inflation and We, the People, will not allow the federal government to run over us. I will continue to stand against government oppression.”
