WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) announced today that the Lafayette Regional Airport will receive $12.6 million from the U.S. Department of Transportation for a taxiway extension project.
Congressman Higgins issued the following statement:
“This latest investment for Lafayette Regional is welcome news. Since coming to Congress, we have worked with our federal partners to deliver over $70 million for the airport. The new terminal and other enhancements are driving growth for the airport and boosting economic activity in South Louisiana. Executive Director Steven Picou and his team at Lafayette Regional are doing an excellent job. They have been very proactive and worked with us for six years to secure federal funding for airport improvements.”
