WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) announced today that FEMA is awarding an additional $63,497,587.77 for hurricane recovery efforts in South Louisiana.
The reimbursements include:
- $34,621,295.99 to the Jefferson Davis Electric Cooperative for emergency protective measures taken to maintain power distribution in response to Hurricane Laura. The reimbursement is made at a 90% federal cost-share.
- $3,609,555.03 to the City of Lake Charles for debris removal operations in response to Hurricane Laura. The reimbursement is made at a 100% federal cost-share.
- $5,009,266.90 to the City of Lake Charles for debris removal operations in response to Hurricane Laura. The reimbursement is made at a 90% federal cost-share.
- $8,572,317.06 to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development for evacuation and sheltering services in response to Hurricane Laura. The reimbursement is made at a 90% federal cost-share.
- $1,582,164.39 to the Diocese of Lake Charles for temporary facilities at St. Margaret Catholic School in response to Hurricane Laura. The reimbursement is made at a 90% federal cost-share.
- $6,523,262.41 to the Calcasieu Parish School Board for management costs in response to Hurricane Laura. The reimbursement is made at a 100% federal cost-share.
- $3,579,725.99 to Lafayette City-Parish Consolidated Government for repairs to the Lafayette Utilities System in response to Hurricane Delta. The reimbursement is made at a 75% federal cost-share.
All funding will be delivered to the State of Louisiana. The state is responsible for disbursing the funds to each sub-recipient.
