WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) announced today that the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will award a $5,355,592 Declared Disaster Recovery Fund grant to the City of Lake Charles to address unmet housing and community development needs resulting from Hurricanes Laura and Delta.

Congressman Higgins issued the following statement:

“This HUD grant is much-needed and will help the City of Lake Charles address unmet demand for affordable housing. We will continue to prioritize Southwest Louisiana’s recovery from the 2020 storm season.”
