Higgins Issues Statement on Afghanistan

LAFAYETTE, LA – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) issued the following statement regarding the ongoing situation in Afghanistan.

“It’s insane what Biden and his handlers are doing with Afghanistan. Shockingly abhorrent. America’s adversaries clearly recognize the weakness of this administration. I have long supported bringing our troops home, but those decisions should have been made reflective of conditions on the ground, not arbitrary dates on a calendar, and the Taliban should have suffered immediate response in no uncertain terms, actual cost, should they vary from the conditions-based withdrawal agreement that was negotiated successfully last year. That’s the plan President Trump had in place. Joe Biden abandoned it. Untold American treasure and American lives have been invested in Afghanistan over the last two decades. Those efforts have been erased in a matter of days because of the Biden administration’s failed foreign policy.”
