WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) issued the following statement after voting against H.R. 8 and H.R. 1446, which impose new restrictions on firearm purchases and infringe upon the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Americans.
“Bit by bit, Democrats are chipping away at the Second Amendment. Neither of these liberal gun-control measures will stop criminals from acquiring firearms. These bills will only punish law-abiding citizens and impede your right to keep and bear arms. I support the Second Amendment and will continue to stand for our Constitutional freedoms.”
