WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) announced today that FEMA will award $2,232,261 for flood mitigation efforts in Erath. The hazard mitigation grant will be used to finance the elevation of 13 flood-prone and severe repetitive loss properties.

Congressman Higgins issued the following statement:

“Flood mitigation remains a top infrastructure priority for South Louisiana. These efforts will make our communities more resilient to severe weather and produce long-term cost savings. I will continue to work with my colleagues on this issue.”
