WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) announced today that FEMA will award $2,645,011 to Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) for flood mitigation efforts. The hazard mitigation grant will be used to finance the elevation or purchase of 13 flood-prone and severe repetitive loss properties.
Congressman Higgins issued the following statement:
“We continue to seek investments in flood mitigation and resiliency efforts for South Louisiana. These proactive measures produce long-term cost savings and limit the impact of potential flood events. My office will continue to work with our local, state, and federal partners on these efforts.”
