LAFAYETTE, LA – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) announced today that Lafayette Regional Airport will receive $9,421,816 in Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airport Improvement Program (AIP) funding and CARES Act assistance. The grant will help finance reconstruction of the airport apron.
Congressman Higgins issued the following statement:
“Given the challenge that South Louisiana faces in recovering from Hurricane Laura, this investment comes as welcome news. We’ve worked to ensure that Lafayette Regional Airport receives all necessary resources required for the new terminal project and corresponding airfield improvements. President Trump and his administration have been strong allies to our region, and we’ll work with them closely to ensure South Louisiana has everything it needs for recovery efforts.”
