2020 Art Competition Winner   LA03

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) announced today that Adisyn Estes, a rising junior from Sam Houston High School in Moss Bluff, is the winner of the 2020 Congressional Art Competition for Louisiana’s 3rd District.

Adisyn’s piece, titled “Louis Ray La Bouff,” is a pen and ink drawing that features various shading techniques to create depth and texture.

Her artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol as part of a national exhibit. Winners will tentatively be recognized during a September ceremony in Washington D.C.

“Adisyn’s artwork is a testament to her skill and creativity,”said Congressman Higgins.“We’re honored to have her amazing artistic talent representing Louisiana’s 3rd District in the national exhibit.”



About the Congressional Art Competition
Each spring, the U.S. House of Representatives sponsors an art competition for high school students. The Congressional Art Competition began in 1982 to provide an opportunity for members of Congress to encourage and recognize the artistic talents of their young constituents. Since then, more than 650,000 high school students have been involved with the nationwide competition.
