WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) issued the following statement after voting against H.R. 2339, a bill that would ban flavored tobacco products.
“I don’t smoke, and I encourage all Americans to refrain from smoking and embrace a healthy lifestyle. However, this Bill is unconstitutional and is a direct infringement on individual freedoms. These ingredients are legal. If you want to smoke, then smoke any form or flavor you prefer. I support personal freedoms and state’s rights. I am strongly opposed to the ever-expanding power and control of the federal government over our lives.”
