WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) invited local officials to apply for federal grant programs assisting law enforcement organizations and first responders. In a letter to all 3rd District Parish Presidents, Sheriffs, Chiefs of Police, and Mayors, Congressman Higgins shared a detailed list of more than 40 federal grant opportunities that may be available.
“As a law enforcement officer for more than a decade, I understand the importance of updating, expanding, and developing the capabilities of our first responders to effectively protect and serve our communities. The purpose of this letter is to inform you of federal grant and loan opportunities for which your law enforcement and fire departments may be qualified. These grants are varied and may provide assistance for everything from equipment and training to reward incentives and health care treatment.”
