WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) issued the following statement after voting against H.R. 8 and H.R. 1112, which impose new restrictions on firearm purchases.
“Both pieces of gun-control legislation being pushed by my Democratic colleagues this week represent a direct assault on the Second Amendment. These bills do nothing to prevent criminal acts of violence. They are federal government power grabs that punish and restrict the rights of law-abiding citizens. This is an absolute infringement on the Second Amendment.”
