Congressman Clay Higgins of Louisiana’s 3rd Congressional District reacted to the State of the Union Address.
Higgins says President Trump has the legal authority and obligation to protect our southern border.
In addition, Higgins says the shutdown should not have happened, but it takes two sides to negotiate.
“The Republican Party and the Executive Branch stands ready to negotiate a solid deal to secure our southern border to reestablish sovereignty of our southern border and to reach a reasonable American interest compromise with our Democratic colleagues,” Higgins said.
