WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) issued the following statement after Speaker Pelosi revoked President Trump’s invitation to deliver his State of the Union address.
“The House of Representatives belongs to We, the People, not Madame Speaker Pelosi. This is a political stunt intended to deny President Trump an opportunity to directly engage the American people. Democrats should end their political games. Let President Trump deliver his State of the Union address, a duty envisioned by our Founders in Article II, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution.”
