WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins’ (R-LA) bill to increase choice and expand access to Medical Foster Homes (MFH) for veterans unable to live independently, H.R. 5693, passed in the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee today with bipartisan support.

Congressman Higgins issued the following statement:

“This is another example of our efforts to provide veterans with greater choice and flexibility over how they access their benefits. Medical Foster Homes provide both high-quality care and a cost-savings for the Department of Veterans Affairs. I am glad to see my bill advance through the Committee with strong, bipartisan support.”
