The U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 5674, the VA MISSION Act, which streamlines and expands several VA programs. Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) is a cosponsor of this legislation.
The VA MISSION Act:
- Streamlines the VA’s multiple community care programs into a single program,
- Creates a non-partisan process for reviewing VA assets and facilities,
- Expands the VA’s Post-9/11 Caregiver Program to veterans of all service eras,
- Extends funding for the Choice Program.
Congressman Higgins issued the following statement:
“The House Veterans Affairs’ Committee has passed significant legislation this year to modernize the Department of Veterans Affairs. We must prioritize veterans over bureaucracy. This bill advances those efforts and ensures that veterans have access to timely, high-quality care. Expanding the Post-9/11 Caregiver Program is something that I have fought for since I was elected, and I’m glad to see this endeavor included in the VA MISSION Act.”
