Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) sent a letter today to President Trump asking for an expedited decision on disaster assistance for Calcasieu and Cameron parishes.
“Many citizens in my district who suffered flooding during the historic rain event in 2016, had only just recovered when Hurricane Harvey impacted Southwest Louisiana. These Americans are hurting and some have lost everything yet again. It was uplifting to have President Trump visit our community to see much of the damage first-hand and to hear from the citizens of Louisiana. I’m committed to ensuring that the people of Southwest Louisiana have the resources they need to rebuild and recover fully, and I’m hopeful that we can encourage the executive branch to expedite the disaster declaration process so that my constituents can receive the help they need.”
