Higgins Announces More than $3.8M for State Law Enforcement
Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) announced today that the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement will receive more than $3.8 million to reimburse law enforcement agencies that responded to historic flooding in 2016.
The U.S. Department of Justice has awarded the funds, which total $3,849,826. The funds will be distributed to law enforcement agencies in southwest and south central Louisiana.
"Our first responders, my brothers and sisters of the Thin Blue Line, acted swiftly and courageously during the historic floods of 2016," said Congressman Higgins. "Scores of thousands of homes and businesses throughout South Louisiana were damaged or destroyed, and our first responders were at the center of rescue and recovery operations - using every resource available. These funds will help local law enforcement agencies stay mission-ready to continue serving and protecting their communities."
