Congressman Clay Higgins' office is holding six veterans outreach clinics this year.

The first one will be held this Monday in Rayne.

The workshops will be like the one Higgins' office hosted in Crowley last May.

Representatives from Higgins' office, the U.S. and Louisiana departments of veterans affairs, state attorney general's office, Louisiana Workforce Commission, and veterans groups will be there.

Veterans will be able to sign up for VA benefits, file or check disability claims, register for job searches, and learn about other issues impacting vets.

"I really discovered that many veterans had just given up on the system. They ran into such a brick wall through the course of years and sometimes even decades. It was so frustrating that they just stepped away," Higgins says.

The clinic will be held this Monday, March 25th from 11 am until 3 pm at the Rayne Civic Center.

The other five events will be held in Breaux Bridge, New Iberia, Morgan City, Abbeville, and Vinton later this year.
